Your annotated bibliography should be at least 4 pages EXCLUDING the title page, with your evaluation section comprising AT LEAST 2 and a half pages of the aforementioned 4 pages.
a. Summarize the content of the empirical study by addressing the following elements of the study (do not directly quote or copy/paste from the article; please paraphrase):
i. The purposes/objectives of the study.
ii. The research methods used; data collection procedures used for the study (e.g., survey, archival, meta-analysis, experiment, naturalistic observation, interview).
iii. Major demographic characteristics of the sample pointed out/ emphasized by the researchers (e.g., number of men vs women; ethnic make-up of the sample, age, education, etc…) for the study. If meta-analysis, general characteristics/descriiptions of the articles are included in the analysis.
iv. Sample sizes for the study. If meta-analysis, the number of articles included in the analysis.
v. Instruments/measures used during the data collection procedures for the study. Please succinctly provide an overall general descriiption of the instruments/measures (e.g., five surveys with a total of 20 questions were administered; urine samples were collected for five consecutive days). If meta-analysis, search engines/databases are used to select relevant articles.
vi. Major, specific statistical analyses run, conducted, and/or carried out by the researchers of the study to analyze data, test the hypotheses, and/or answer the research questions (review Statistical Analyses presentation in Moodle). Do not simply allude to this information only in the results and/or only in the evaluation. Do not simply allude to the software used (i.e., SPSS) to analyze the data. If meta-analysis, inclusion and/or exclusion criteria.
vii. Results/findings for the study. Please succinctly summarize; no need to present specific statistics.
b. Evaluate the validity and usefulness of the empirical study
i. Strengths and/or weaknesses/biases identified by you regarding the following elements of the study:
ï research methods
ï participants
ï sample size
ï instruments/measures used during the data collection procedures used for the study.
ii. Any special, unique, or interesting features about the study.
iii. Overall significance and implications of the results identified by you. Please discuss the overall significance and implications by describing the relevance of the topic to employers and employees in the workplace.
